About me
Katie Messick holds master’s degrees in GIS and Forestry from the University of Washington and has been using GIS in her work for 25 years. She has spent the last 10 years as a GIS Analyst and Staff Scientist at WEST Consultants, Inc., which is a small water resources engineering firm. Prior to that she worked as a field biologist, including 10 years at King County. Her GIS accomplishments include complex spatial analyses such as the work presented here and other river-based and coastal analyses, and cartography ranging from artistic map figures for reports to detailed formal maps and map series for things such as FEMA submittals and Emergency Action Plan maps for dam breach scenarios.
