About me
Katie’s responsibilities cover the City’s GIS and asset management programs, which inventory and track maintenance on all Public Works assets, including utilities and transportation. In addition, her group provides a variety of services to all City departments, including data collection, data sharing, and data analysis. She also curates the GIS server architecture and pushes out applications that inform staff and citizens about City data and analyses. Katie’s education includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Geology from Western Washington University. Her initial career was in hydrology, but has since morphed into the world of GIS, covering cartography, scripting, web design, and database management. If you ask, she will tell you she has the best job in the world.
