About me
Joe Géigel is a GIS Specialist with the King County Wastewater Treatment Division, where he has worked since 2023. He earned his GISP certification that same year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Puerto Rico (2016) and a Master’s degree in GIS for Sustainability Management from the University of Washington (2018).
Joe has more than 12 years of professional GIS experience in both the private and public sectors, including work with environmental consulting firms and local government agencies in the Seattle region. His work at King County includes developing web mapping applications, conducting spatial analysis, and mapping to support wastewater treatment operations, and contributing to projects related to climate change, safety and security incident monitoring, and project delivery. He also supports the WTD Drone Program as a Part 107 Certified UAS pilot, a certification he has held since 2018.
